Kenneth G. ‘Kenny’ Conway

TRAFALGAR

Kenneth G. “Kenny” Conway, 78, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 6, 2015, at his son’s house in Trafalgar. He was a lifelong resident of Trafalgar.

Kenny was born in Trafalgar on April 2, 1936, to Noah S. and Daisy Mae (Zimmerman) Conway.

He attended school in Trafalgar and went on to marry Elizabeth A. (Hoskins) Conway on Feb. 21, 1956, in Springfield, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2012, after 56 devoted years of marriage.

Kenny retired in 1999 from Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, where he had been employed for 22 years as a maintenance technician. He previously worked for the Red Gold canning factory in Trafalgar for 19 years.

Kenny was a former member Fair Haven Christian Church in Trafalgar.

Kenny was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved to spend time with his family. A hard worker with strong values, he remained in the Trafalgar community his entire life.

Kenny enjoyed working with wood and the challenge of remodeling homes for his family throughout the years. His other pastimes included gardening, rabbit and squirrel hunting. Although he wasn’t a big sports fan, he did enjoy watching a good Indianapolis Colts football game.

Kenny is survived by three daughters, Barbara (Dale) Burton of Lakeland, Florida, and Carol (Scott) Willard and Paula (Jim) Baker, both of Nineveh; three sons, Chris (Rosemary) Conway of Trafalgar, Ronny (Melinda) Conway of Whiteland and Johnny Conway of Franklin; a brother, Robert (Nilene) Conway of Deland, Florida; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by an infant son, Ricky Conway; and siblings, Martha Koeber, Betty Seay, Dora Lee, Leta Frances and William Conway.

The Rev. Stan Icenogle will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
