Sally Marshall

WHITELAND

Sally Ann Marshall, 82, of Whiteland passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.

She was born Jan. 9, 1933, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Cutler Abbott McGrew and Carrie Olive (Davies) McGrew. She married Frank H. Marshall on Nov. 15, 1975, at Union Christian Church in Franklin. He survives.

She was a homemaker and also had been a product demonstrator for Walmart in Franklin and Martinsville, and Sam’s Club in Greenwood. She also had previously been a kindergartner assistant at the Greenwood Christian Church School and owned and operated her alteration shop in the Walker Plaza in Greenwood. She was a member of Providence Christian Church in Bargersville.

She enjoyed being a seamstress. She was part of a ladies group that made bibs for nursing home patients and also she enjoyed making Christmas stockings and filling them with items to be sent overseas to military troops in Iraq and other foreign regions. Sally enjoyed baking and decorating wedding cakes, making her chocolate dipped candies, playing the piano, and was an avid Colts fan.

Survivors include her loving husband, Frank H. Marshall of Whiteland; her children, Shari S. Stark of Franklin, Curt E. Cogan (Michelle) of New Whiteland, Clark Cogan of Franklin, Steve K. Marshall (Fran) of Lansing, Kansas, Daniel H. Marshall (Debbie) of Lima, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rickie Lynn Buck, and two brothers, Robert “Bob” McGrew and William “Bill” McGrew.

Rev. Steven L. Sorensen will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may cal from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
