NORTH VERNON
Avis Louise Acton, 86, of North Vernon, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (David) Woodall of North Vernon; four sons, Thomas Acton of Columbus, Charles H. (Sherry) Acton of Ellettsville, Ronald (Jessie) Acton and Richard (Angie) Acton, both of North Vernon; two stepsons, Tony and Tim Acton, both of Seymour; a brother, John (Mary Rose) Williams of Indianapolis; a sister, Minnie Weddell of Tucson, Arizona; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert Acton and Ellis Acton.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Marcus Speer officiating. Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
