FRANKLIN

Fred Carter, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born on July 9, 1929, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, to Howard and Nellie (Kerr) Carter.

He married Dorothy (Smith) Carter.

Fred is survived by two daughters, Lynn Dinn and Margie Martinez; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Dottie; grandson, Kevis Adams; and siblings, Achilles Carter, Clifford Carter, Bessie Carter Bryant and Beatrice Carter Bray.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Fred was employed by Arvin Industries in Franklin as a setup man, retiring after 38 years of dedicated service.

He was a 58-year member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107, F&AM.

Pastor Wanda Sharp will conduct a graveside service at 2 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery.
