Gregory Michael Young

Gregory Michael Young, 26, of Danville, died Sunday, March 15, 2015.

Greg was a 2007 graduate of Avon High School. He served our country in the U.S. Army and was in the U.S. Army Reserve at the time of his death.

Greg was currently an FS driver/operator for Heritage Environmental Services in Indianapolis.

He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 0118 in Danville.

Greg loved to ride and perform on BMX bikes, where he became a master and within two years received recognition in the state for first place and second place in the Midwest and eighth place in the nationals.

Greg is survived by his mother, Kelly Dawn (Mark) Slagle; siblings Ashley Nicole Pruitt, Jacob Bradley Spires and Zakk Richard Slagle; grandparents, Karren Sue (Linier) Young, Harold Dean Young and Richard Slagle; and great-grandparent, Anna Marie (Anderson) Young.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. until the time Monday at the funeral center. Burial will be at West Ridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
