The Martinsville Arts Council and Merry MAC Players will present a comedy show fundraiser this weekend.
The two-night April Fools Standup Comedy Show will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Depot Theatre, 210 N. Marion St., Martinsville. Doors open at 7 p.m. Patrons 21 and older only.
The show’s comics are regulars at Crackers Comedy Club and Morty’s Comedy Joint in Indianapolis and other stand-up venues nationwide.
The roster includes the following:
Leslie Dinsmore, stand-up comic, performer at various Bloomington comedy venues and participant of Comedy Mix Tape benefit
Stephen Vincent Giles, stand-up comic, featured on Xfinity on Demand’s “Who’s Laughing Now?”
Sam Griswold, stand-up comic and writer/voice actor for the “Bob and Tom Show”
Jim Leugers, stand-up comic and host of the “Big Pretty Podcast” and “An Evening with the Authors” comedy show
Jimmy Roberson, stand-up comic and finalist in the “Bob & Tom All Star Comedy Tour Contest”
The Friday headliner is Jordan Mather-Licht, a stand-up comic and participant in the Bloomington Limestone Comedy Festival and featured performer at the 2014 Cincinnati Brew Ha-Ha Festival.
The Saturday headliner is Dwight Simmons, a stand-up comic and winner of the 2013 Indiana Comedy Festival, as well as participant in the Limestone Comedy Festival and featured performer in the Cape May Comedy Festival.
