FRANKLIN
Geneva A. (Hickman) Sanford Sharpe, 53, of Franklin, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015, at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 23, 1961, in Cincinnati to Joy and Lona (Nuckles) Hickman.
She married Freddie Sharpe on Feb. 14, 2004, in Franklin; he survives.
She was a nurse for 16 years at several long-term health care facilities in Lawrenceburg and the Franklin area. She loved her job as a nurse caring for her patients.
She cherished spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Freddie Sharpe of Franklin; her mother, Lona (Nuckles) Hickman of Florence; daughter, Shannon Ramirez of Florence, Kentucky; brothers, Larry Hickman of Vevay, Alan Hickman and Samuel Hickman (Sandy), both of Florence; sisters, Brenda Barnard (John) of Harrison, Ohio, Darlene Marple (Chuck) of Vevay and Shirley Reece of Aurora; stepdaughter, Karen Miller (Luke) of Cincinnati; stepsons, Wavie Jake Sharpe (Joann) of Franklin, and Johnny Sharpe and Harland Sharpe, both of Jackson County, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Alyssa Nicole Crowder, Malachi Vorhees, Blake Michael Sanford and Jazmin Guadalupe Ramirez; and several stepgrandchildren, including Wavie Asher Sharpe, Abbie Hardy and other out-of-town stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joy Hickman; and a son, Michael E. Sanford II, on April 30, 2012.
A service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. Morton St. (U.S. 31 South) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the service time Friday at the mortuary.
