Brian Kieth Duke Jr.

HINESVILLE, Georgia

Brian Kieth Duke Jr., 21, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, in Hinesville, Georgia. He was a resident of Hinesville, Georgia, and former resident of Johnson County.

Brian was born on April 6, 1994, in Honolulu, Hawaii to Brian K. Duke Sr. and Alicia K. (Brooks) Duke.

He is survived by his parents; fiancée, Katie Kwilosz; four brothers, Cody Duke, Dustin Duke, Silas Liels and Kaden Goforth; one sister, Breanna South; grandparents, William and Sharon (Croas) Brooks and Willis and Helen (Carpenter) Shields; two uncles, David Duke and Wesley Shields; two nieces, Kaylynn Walker and Maleah Bryson; two nephews, Kyson Walker and Dakota Duke; many cousins; and best friend, Dallas Wheeler.

He was a 2012 graduate of Center Grove High School.

Brian joined the U.S. Army as an infantryman in 2012. He served a two-year tour of duty in Germany and one tour of duty in Afghanistan. Brian was stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting guns. He loved riding his motorcycle.

The Rev. Ken Rickett will conduct a service in celebration of Brian’s life at 1 p.m. Thursday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation for family and friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the U.S. Army.
