Two school buses involved in accidents

Two school buses with students on board were in weather-related accidents on Tuesday morning.

A Center Grove school bus was rear-ended by another vehicle near the intersection of Smith Valley and Morgantown roads before school started, while an activity bus from Clark-Pleasant slid off U.S. 31 with a few students on board.

No one was injured in either incident, school officials said. The vehicle that ran into Center Grove’s school bus was towed, but school transportation officials are still checking for any damage to the bus, Center Grove spokeswoman Stacy Conrad said. The Clark-Pleasant bus was not damaged, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction Cameron Rains said.

The Clark-Pleasant bus slid out of the lane near Southern Bowl bowling alley, but did not slide into a ditch, Rains said. No other vehicles were involved, and the bus driver was able to get back on the road, he said.
