Joan Elizabeth (Pierle) Puntarelli, 94, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1921, in Guston, Kentucky, the middle child of 17, born to Lee Edward and Katherine Pierle.
Joan is survived by sons, Tim (Diane) Puntarelli, Tory (Ceci) Puntarelli; daughter, Tracy (Tim) Pickens; grandchildren, T.J. (Courtney) Altman, Travis Puntarelli, Aaron Puntarelli, Julia Puntarelli, Taylor Ardizzone; great grandchildren, Salvatore Giovanni and Penelope Leigh Altman; and sister, Doris “Babe” Lepper.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Sal Puntarelli.
A prayer service will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Ave., Indianapolis followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Joan will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Catholic charity of the donor’s choice.
