Registration open for YMCA camps

Time to register for YMCA camps

Registration is open for the YMCA summer day camps.

Camp will be offered May 23 to Aug. 5 at Baxter YMCA, 7900 Shelby St., Indianapolis.

The day camp is open to children ages 3 to 15 and is accredited by the American Camp Association, which means it has met or exceeded the highest nationally recognized standards for health, safety, staff training and program quality.

The day camp offers age-appropriate activity groups for each child, as well as pool time. New camps being offered this summer include “Mike and Sully’s Scare Factory,” “Glamping” and “Robotics.”

Families can choose half day, full day and overnight camp programs for their children.

Also, Flat Rock River YMCA Camp is the Y’s overnight camp, about 45 minutes southeast of Indianapolis on the 240-acre campground in St. Paul. All campers will enjoy great camping activities such as horseback riding, swimming, biking, canoeing, the zip line, archery and more.

Parents can register their children by stopping by any YMCA location, online at ourcauseisyou.org or by calling 266-9622. Financial assistance is available.
