<p>WHITELAND</p>
<p>James C. Toon, 73, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Franklin. He was a former resident of Whiteland for many years.</p>
<p>He was born Nov. 24, 1942, in Beech Grove to Elbert Toon and Edna (Williams) Moore. He married Glenda M. (Brunson) Toon on June 27, 1964. She lovingly survives in Franklin.</p>
<p>Jim also is survived by daughter, Lisa (Ron) Shaffer of Avon; son, James Toon (Rhonda Challman) of Franklin; grandchildren, Paige Ferrill, Courtney Toon, Anthony Cowan and Jeremy Toon and great-grandchild, Kyla Pickhardt and brother, Terry Toon.</p>
<p>He was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Dick Toon and sister, Jackie Johnson.</p>
<p>Jim was a graduate of New Palestine High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.</p>
<p>He was employed by Chrysler Automotive, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. He later worked part-time at Greenwood Cemetery.</p>
<p>He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Post No. 252.</p>
<p>Chris Ellis will conduct a celebration of Jim’s life at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion and the United States Air Force.</p>
