Woman steals Walmart gift cards

<p>Franklin police are asking for help identifying a woman they said stole nearly $1,000 in gift cards.</p>
<p>Police released surveillance photos of a woman leaving Walmart, 2125 U.S. 31 North, after noon on May 2.</p>
<p>The woman walked into Walmart and grabbed several gift cards. At one register, she asked the cashier to load the gift card with $499 and swiped a credit card to pay, but then canceled the transaction. The woman then hit a button on the cashier’s keyboard, making the cash register open. When the cashier closed the cash register, the woman grabbed the receipt and walked away, the report said.</p>
<p>The woman then walked to a second cash register and did the same thing before walking out of the store, according to the police report.</p>[sc:text-divider text-divider-title="Story continues below gallery" ]
<p>She was seen walking through the Walmart parking lot, then through the nearby gas station. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Adam Joseph at 317-346-1144.</p>
