Greenwood native promoted to loan officer at local bank

Casey Ferguson has been promoted to mortgage loan officer at Home Bank SB.Ferguson will serve the residential loan needs of Johnson and surrounding counties. Ferguson has been with Home Bank SB since 2014 and was previously a customer service representative.

Ferguson is a Greenwood native and attended Center Grove High School before studying agriculture at Ivy Tech. She lives in Bargersville with her husband.

Community groups get grants from foundations

Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union, recently awarded $8,500 in grants through its Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant Program to four organizations.The purpose of the Joan Wolfe Legacy Grant Program is to assist schools and community organizations that help children to achieve success in learning. The 2016 grants were awarded to the following organizations in late July.

n Christel House Academy, $1,000

n Playworks Indiana, $2,500

n Riley Children’s Foundation, $2,500

n Visually Impaired Preschool Services, VIPS Indiana, $2,500

New manager hired for Habitat for Humanity group

Habitat for Humanity of Johnson County recently hired Jenny Blevins as the affiliate support manager. She will assist with all aspects of the organization. Prior to joining Habitat, Blevins worked in banking for 14 years, most recently in the trust department at Mutual Savings Bank.She is a 2016 Leadership Johnson County graduate and has participated in numerous nonprofit events throughout the county. She lives in Trafalgar with her husband and two children.

Restaurant manager’s work earns Diamond Club status

Greg Tuzzio, general manager of the Olive Garden in Greenwood, has earned Diamond Club status of the restaurant’s parent company, Darden Restaurants.The designation recognizes commitment to guest experiences, company values and community involvement. This is the second time Tuzzio has received this recognition.

He is one of more than 40 general managers selected from the more than 800 Olive Garden restaurants in North America.

The Greenwood Olive Garden is at 1274 U.S. 31.

Area funeral home gets national service award

The Johnson Consulting Group of Scottsdale, Arizona presented the Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, with the Excellence in Customer Service Award for achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction in 2015.The group is a nationally acclaimed funeral home consulting firm that developed and implemented performance measures. The awards were presented to select client funeral homes who achieved the highest overall performance scores from responses to family satisfaction surveys during 2015.

The Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service was founded in 1897 and is the oldest funeral home in Greenwood.
