Man faces decades for molest felonies

A former Greenwood man faces a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of five felonies by a jury.

Jessie Rodarmel, 26, 3606 E. Brunswick Drive, Indianapolis, was found guilty of two counts of child molestation and three counts of dissemination of matter harmful to minors.

He now faces 20 to 50 years each on the child molestation counts, and up to two-and-a-half years on each of the dissemination of matter harmful to minors counts, Johnson County deputy prosecutor Carrie Miles said. Rodarmel is set to be sentenced Sept. 29.

Rodarmel was arrested in 2014 when a woman reported he had molested two preteen girls and made them watch pornography.

Miles said she was pleased with the jury’s verdict. Rodarmel had pleaded not guilty to the charges, and a jury found him guilty after a three-day trial.

“We really were pleased to be able to get some justice for them. It’s been a long time they have had to live with this and wait for justice,” Miles said.
