Church hosting fish fry with drinks, sides

Friendship Baptist Church, 1600 Westview Drive, Franklin, will host a fish fry 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 10.

Cost is $8 for a fish sandwich combo with sides and a drink. Items also will be sold individually.

Dinner provided for veterans, families

Christ Our Shepherd, Church of the Brethren, 857 N. State Road 135, Greenwood, will host a dinner for veterans and their families on Sept. 11.

The church hosts a series of dinner programs for military families throughout the year. The program will begin after dinner, which starts at 5 p.m.

The speaker will be retired U.S. Marine Loren Minnix, who served in the early 1960s. He is president and founder of Warrior’s Hope Inc., providing peer support groups for military veterans. He is the field representative for Post Traumatic Growth Institute and is employed by the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs. He and his wife live in Greenwood.

All military members, veterans and their families are invited to attend. There is no charge.

Upcoming dinner programs are scheduled for Nov. 13 and Dec. 11.

Listen to gospel concert at Open Door

Open Door Fellowship Church, 250 14th St., Franklin, will host a gospel concert by Rick Moreland and Brady and Bran Rund on Sept. 18.

All are welcome to enjoy an evening of Gospel music and fellowship. Refreshments will be available starting at 5 p.m with the music beginning at 6 p.m.
