Two Edinburgh men were arrested this weekend when police found loaded weapons, methamphetamine and cash in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
Gerardo Cordova Jimenez, 23, and Bernardo Cordova Jimenez, 30, both of Edinburgh, each face charges of dealing in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Gerardo Jimenez also faces a charge of possession of a handgun without a permit.
The two men were arrested after a Jackson County sheriff’s deputy stopped an SUV for reckless driving on U.S. 50 near Seymour. Gerardo Jimenez was driving during the traffic stop early Sunday morning, the deputy’s report said.
Police found more than 135 grams of methamphetamine, scales, a ledger and two guns. A gram of methamphetamine has a street value of $100 to $120, the report said. Gerardo Jimenez did not have a permit to carry a handgun, police said.
