Rolland A. Pollert

<p>FRANKLIN</p>
<p>Rolland A. Pollert, 87, of Franklin passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at the Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin.</p>
<p>He was born Jan. 4, 1929, in Brownstown, Jackson County, to Albert and Lilly Willamena Carolina (Fenneberg) Pollert. He married Virginia A. Hastings on June 19, 1965, in Sandborn; she survives.</p>
<p>He was raised on a farm in Brownstown, along with his siblings. He was confirmed at the St. John’s Sauers Lutheran Church in Brownstown and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Franklin. He worked for the Indiana Military Department of the Indiana National Guard at Stout Field in Indianapolis and Camp Atterbury. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard and Indiana National Guard Reserve.</p>
<p>Rolland farmed for 45 years outside of Franklin. He enjoyed helping his children with their 4-H cattle projects. He was a member of the Johnson County Beef Cattle Association, the National Beef Cattle Association and the Johnson County Farm Bureau.</p>
<p>Survivors include his wife, Virginia A. (Hastings) Pollert of Franklin; three daughters, Johannah H. Pollert (Kevin) Weber of Greenwood, Janet S. (Eric) Vatland of Spring, Texas and Heidi L. Baca (Ralphael) of Greenwood; son, Matt N. Davis (Kim) of Franklin; grandchildren, Hannah N. Vatland, Erin E. Vatland and Lily G. Vatland, all of Spring, Texas, Camilla N. Baca of Greenwood, Lauren Davis of Franklin; step granddaughter, Amber (Jason) Kephart of Whiteland; step great-grandchildren, Brayton Cranfill, Jayden Chance, Weston Chance and Bryce Kephart; siblings, Evelyn Luecke of Seymour, Francis Holle of Seymour, Dorothy Gray of North Port, Florida, Leslie Pollert (Alice) of Waverly and Alan Pollert (Polly) of Brownstown.</p>
<p>He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Willis; sister, Irene Pollert; niece, Dr. Jill Buck, and great nephews, Branson and Aiden Buck.</p>
<p>Rev. Roger Daene will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 S. Morton St., Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.</p>
