Edinburgh woman arrested on drug-related charges

An Edinburgh woman was arrested on theft and drug-related charges after police said she stole items from Columbus stores.

Samantha Sampson, 23, 904 Roosevelt Ave., was arrested on charges of theft, possession of a syringe, possession of a legend drug and possession of paraphernalia after police were called to Carson’s, a department store in Columbus, at about 4:15 p.m. Thursday, said officer Justin Black, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

When they found Sampson in the 2100 block of 25th Street, police said they determined she had a syringe and medication for which she had no prescription.

Sampson was released from the Bartholomew County Jail without having to pay a bond, jail officials said.
