Free classes available at heart center

Franciscan Health Heart Center is offering free classes focused on cardiovascular health and wellness in October. The following local classes are scheduled.

6:30 p.m. Oct. 13, Franciscan Health Heart Center, 8111 S. Emerson Ave., Indianapolis, presented by Dr. Harry Genovely

Have you ever fainted or passed out for no obvious reason? Syncope is a temporary loss of consciousness and posture and is usually related to a temporary insufficient blood flow to the brain. Genovely will talk about syncope, how to identify the cause and what treatment options are available.

Research shows that no matter what you weigh, increasing your fitness helps your heart. Discover that exercise can be healthy and fun. Learn how to set up a schedule for yourself.

6:30 p.m. Oct. 20, Franciscan Health Heart Center

Adding more meatless meals to the diet is easy with new products now on the market. This class will help with menu planning and recipes so you can incorporate more meatless meals into your daily life.
