Free health film screening scheduled

Free movie screenings of a film on end-of-life care is being sponsored by Fransican St. Francis Health and the Indiana Coalition for Patient Safety.

The PBS Frontline film, “Being Mortal” is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Dr. Atul Gawande, MD. The documentary explores the experiences of patients and families facing terminal illness and their relationships with the physicians who treat them.

Screenings will be 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at Franciscan Health Indianapolis-Auditorium, 8111 S. Emerson Ave., Indianapolis.

The discussion after the film will focus on what matters most to patients and families who are facing difficult treatment decisions.

These events are free, and registration is not required. Refreshments will be served.
