Charles Dean Johnson

Charles Dean Johnson, 47, Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016.
He was born in Indianapolis on Dece. 10, 1968 to Charles William and Grethel M. Rexroat Johnson.
Dean was a 1987 graduate of Perry Meridian High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
He worked as an underwriter for Stonegate Mortgage Corporation.
Dean became a member of Mount Pleasant Christian Church on Sept. 3, 2000 after becoming active in the church through the sports and rec ministry on Aug. 14, 2000. He faithfully served in many roles in the church over the years including as middle school volunteer, group leader, high school volunteer, prayer counselor on Sundays, in Bibleopolis, as children’s ministry leader, at Camp Allendale as a counselor/leader; in Men’s Braveheart; and in Youth Sports.
Dean impacted hundreds of students over years of committed service and the ministry to children and students has never been the same since his arrival.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his brother, David Johnson (Sandy); and his nephews, Zachary and Aaron.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Mount Pleasant Christian Church, 381 N. Bluff Road, Greenwood. Burial will be at Floral Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Mount Pleasant Christian Church.
