Twenty-four vote centers across Johnson County opened at 6 a.m.

If you are registered to vote in Johnson County, here’s where you can cast a ballot today.

The vote centers will be open until 6 p.m. Anyone in line by 6 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Here’s what you need to know:

• You cannot vote by text or email. We repeat: You cannot cast a ballot by texting or sending an email. Don’t fall for it. To vote in Johnson County, you have to go to one of the vote centers.

• Polls opened at <span class="aBn"><span class="aQJ">6 a.m.</span></span> and close at <span class="aBn"><span class="aQJ">6 p.m.</span></span> Claims that you can vote at any other time or day are false. Think you can vote on Nov. 9? Plain and simple, you are wrong.

• Voting machines are not connected to the Internet.
<ul>
<li>You can not vote on a paper ballot. Under state law, the county is not required to provide paper ballots, since Johnson County uses voting machines. No paper ballots will be available at vote centers. In order to vote on a paper ballot, voters had to follow the required state process for a mail-in ballot, and that deadline has passed.</li>
</ul>
<b>What identification you will need:</b> An Indiana driver’s license, Indiana photo ID card, United States passport, military ID and a state university issued photo ID can be accepted to vote. An out-of-state driver’s license cannot be accepted. Local Bureau of Motor Vehicles branches will be open from <span class="aBn"><span class="aQJ">6 a.m. to 6 p.m.</span></span> on Election Day for people who need a driver’s license or state ID card.

<b>Review your ballot now:</b> According to state law, a voter is limited to two minutes to vote on a voting machine. Each voter should review his or her ballot ahead of time to reduce confusion and any questions. A voter can go online at <a href="http://indianavoters.com" target="_blank">indianavoters.com</a> and click on “Who’s on your Ballot,” to review their ballot.

<b>Lines too long? Here’s what to do:</b> Voters do not have to stay at the same vote center and wait if the line is long. They can go to any of the 24 vote centers and vote.

<b>Internet not a factor:</b> Voting machines are not connected to the Internet.
