FRANKLIN
Bruce Earl Lavengood, 86, of Franklin, and formerly of Erie, passed away peacefully on Oct. 26, 2016, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Bruce was born in Lansing, Michigan on Jan. 24, 1930, to the late Earl J. and Vita K. (Gunnison) Lavengood.
He graduated from Charlotte High School in Charlotte, Michigan in 1948 and from Michigan State University in 1952.
Bruce is survived by daughters, Kathryn A.(Scott Vanta) Lavengood of Indianapolis, and Sandra J. Lavengood of Rockville, Maryland; and grandsons, Skyler L. Shemro and Owen L. Shemro. Many cherished nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse Mary in 2006; a brother, James W. Lavengood in 1986; and a sister, Karen A. Wipper in 2009.
Funeral arrangements were made by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, Pennsylvania.
Interment took place in Calvary Cemetery in Erie, Pennsylvania.
