<p>GREENWOOD</p>
<p>Floyd W. Wood, age 92, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, in Greenwood.</p>
<p>Floyd was born on July 7, 1924, to James and Hazel Wood (Ward) in Nineveh.</p>
<p>He graduated from Nineveh High School in 1942. It was during these years in Nineveh that he met the love of his life, Alice Elizabeth (Betty) Riggs.</p>
<p>Floyd attended Franklin College and graduated from Indiana University in 1948 with a degree in marketing.</p>
<p>He joined Farm Bureau Insurance in 1949 and retired as a vice president on Dec. 31, 1986.</p>
<p>Floyd and Betty married on Aug. 6, 1950, and had three daughters; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.</p>
<p>He enjoyed traveling, square dancing and church activities with his family.</p>
<p>He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty; daughters, Rebecca Rhodes, Marilyn Wood and Diane Jones (Kenny); grandchildren, Jennifer Muller (Kevin), Allison Dutton (Nathan), Michael Moonan, Catherine Moonan, Daniel Moonan, Kim Eckert (Nathan), Natalie Desser (Tim), Hannah Jones, Kenneth Jones Jr.(Amy) and Bradley Jones.</p>
<p>A funeral service for Floyd will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Services and Crematory, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. The family will be receiving guests at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Greenwood Christian Church, where Floyd was a long-time member.</p>
