State chamber board adds local member

Debbie Dewey, president of Indiana American Water, has been named to the Indiana Chamber of Commerce board of directors.The organization partners with 24,000 members and investors, representing more than four million Hoosiers.

The Indiana Chamber’s board advocates for business interests and serve on committees that research topics and define policy positions for adoption by the entire board each fall. The positions are used by the Indiana Chamber’s advocacy team to affect legislation at the statehouse and at the federal level.

Dewey will serve a three-year term as an Indiana Chamber board member through fall 2019.

Moving company adds equipment rentals

U-Haul Company of Indiana has announced that Greenwood South Movers & Storage will offer U-Haul equipment for rent.Greenwood South Movers & Storage is at 6001 S. U.S. 31, Suite 10. Store volunteers at improvement project

Greenwood and Southport Home Depot stores recently teamed up to help a local veteran with home improvements.Kenneth Caincross, a Martinsville resident, is a 24-year U.S. Army veteran. He has limited income, and lives on disability insurance with his wife.

The Home Depot stores took on projects for the family, including painting the interior, laminating floors, and repairing steps at their house.

All work was completed by a team of volunteers, according to a statement from the company.
