Police looking for bank robber

Police are looking for the man who robbed a Bargersville bank on Thursday.

The man came into First Farmers Bank and Trust, located at 42 S. State Road 135, at 12:41 p.m., handed the teller a note and demanded money, Bargersville Police Department Detective Steve Byerly said.

The man, who was wearing a camouflage jacket and orange sunglasses, implied he had a gun, Byerly said.

After getting the money, the man ran out of the bank and got into an older model white Ford Explorer that was waiting on nearby Village Road, Byerly said.

No one was injured, and there were no customers inside the bank at the time, Byerly said.

Police are working on getting surveillance footage. A camera at a nearby business shows the man running away from the bank and getting into the waiting vehicle. Based on the time of that video, police know the vehicle was waiting in the nearby neighborhood for at least five minutes, Byerly said. Police suspect the vehicle drove through the neighborhood and then left the area on County Road 144.
