Vehicles stolen, damaged from Ray Skillman car dealership

Two vehicles were damaged and two were stolen from a Greenwood car dealership during the weekend.

Sometime after 6 p.m. Friday, someone cut a hole in the fence surrounding the lot at Ray Skillman Ford and Southside Hyundai, located at 1250 S. U.S. 31, according to Greenwood police reports. The thefts and damage were discovered and reported to police on Monday.

Holes were drilled into a gas tank parked on the lot, leaving about $1,000 in damage, and someone attempted to steal the stereo out of another vehicle, causing about $700 in damage, the report said.

Two vehicles were also stolen from the lot, valued at about $24,000 total, the report said.

The thief or thieves cut a lock off the gate in order to get out, the report said.

Greenwood police are investigating.
