Chili chefs, get cooking

Chili chefs and enthusiasts can try different kinds or put their recipe up against others in a chili cook off.

Saints Francis & Clare School will be hosting the cook-off from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the school, 5901 W. Olive Branch Road.

How does it work?Chefs, both amateur and expert prepare chili to serve throughout the night. Guests sample various chilis and vote on their favorites by placing dollars in the cans of their favorite chili. Several awards are distributed: People’s Choice, Pastor’s Choice, Principal’s Choice, Hottest, Most Unique Ingredient, etc.

Auction items can be dropped off at the school. All are welcome to attend. Tickets available at the door.

What activities are planned?Silent/live auction, music, fellowship, class projects, 50/50 raffle.

How much does it cost?

Enterance fee is $5.

What else is on the menu?

Chick-fil-A, beer/wine, Ella’s frozen yogurt, general concessions.
