Ray and Eva Petty of Greenwood are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary with their family.
Mr. Petty and his wife, the former Eva Redfern, were married on Feb. 12, 1947, at Hessville Baptist Church in Hammond.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and retired in 1985 from Factory Mutual Insurance Co. as an inspection engineer.
She retired from Wavetek Electronics, retiring in 1986 as a group leader.
They are the parents of Linda Gibson of Loveland, Ohio, Janet Ray of Houston, Texas, and the Rev. Steve Petty of Swansboro, North Carolina; grandparents of 10 grandchildren; and great-grandparents of 24 great-grandchildren.
