Five Things: Winterfest at GCA

Carnival games and dinner will be featured at a Greenwood Christian Academy festival Friday.

The school’s Winterfest is at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the school, 835 W. Worthsville Road.

Cheryl Knauss, events coordinator at the school, tells you what you need to know.

What is WinterFest?

It is a fundraiser that has a live and silent auction, a carnival and dinner. Jonathan Byrd’s is catering, and the menu is hot dogs, coleslaw, beans, chips, cookies and a drink. There will be everything: cake walks, snow ball games, tossing snowballs into pails. There will be games in 17 or 18 classrooms.

How can I get tickets?

Tickets can be purchased online at Gcak12.org. They are also available at the door.

How much are tickets?

Game bracelets are $8 online and $9 at the door. Bracelets get you unlimited access to elementary school games. Board games and video games will available for high school and middle school students. Meals are $6 for adults and $5 for children.

Why is this a fundraiser you keep doing?

We have done this for years. It is one of our biggest fundraisers for the school. We try to keep tuition as low as possible. To keep tuition low, we don’t cover all of our operating expenses, this helps make that up.

What is the deadline to get tickets?

Meal tickets deadline is today. Bracelets are available at the door.
