A Center Grove woman accidentally backed over her young daughter in a driveway on Thursday evening, according to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
The child, who is about to turn 2, was critically injured and rushed to the hospital after the accident, which happened just before 5:30 p.m. in the 4700 block of Walker Street, the sheriff’s office said.
The mother, Ashley Cook, age 27, was moving her vehicle to make room for another vehicle leaving the home, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies are conducting a standard investigation that is typical in serious-injury accidents.
