GIRLS GOLF

Cubs third at Mid-State Meet

Franklin shot a 359 and placed third in the Mid-State Conference Meet at Plainfield on Tuesday. Martinsville won the event with a 326.

Plainfield’s Kayla Benge was medalist with a 71. Leading Franklin with all-conference performances were Taylor Drake with an 88 and Ellie Beavins with an 89.

Lancers win at Deer Valley

Edinburgh defeated Triton Central 188-193 at Deer Valley Golf Course. Vanessa McManaway shot 42 to earn medalist honors. Also for the Lancers, Kenzie Hill finished with a 45 and Savannah Kellams a 47.

VOLLEYBALL

Warriors lose to Flashes

Host Franklin Central defeated Whiteland 25-11, 25-21, 25-14. The Warriors (2-9) were led by Lindsey Boltz with five kills, while Toni Joyner had four and Tabby Holzhausen served up two aces.

Braves win in five sets

Indian Creek scored a 17-25, 25-22, 25-18, 19-25, 15-9 win against Southport on Tuesday. Taylor Burkett led the Braves with 17 kills and four service aces, while Tori Travers finished with 24 digs.

The Braves are now 8-3.

Roncalli defeats Guerin

Betsy Crosley finished with four kills, four blocks and six digs to lead Roncalli past host Guerin Catholic 25-19, 25-18, 25-16. Abby Johnson had two kills, four blocks and two digs for the Rebels.

Warriors down Hawks

Shawn Sullivan scored all four goals for Whiteland in its 4-2 victory against Decatur Central on Tuesday.

Alex Meredith supplied an assist on one of the Warriors’ goals. Whiteland is now 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-State Conference.

Cubs blank Decatur Central

Franklin defeated Decatur Central behind two goals from Emilie Hill and another from Maya Elliott. In goal, Alex Bedard recorded six saves to preserve the shutout.

The Grizzly Cubs improved to 1-1 in the Mid-State Conference and are 2-4 overall.

Rebels lose to Park Tudor

Juan Gallo scored a goal for Roncalli, but it wasn’t enough as the Rebels lost to Park Tudor, 2-1.

Trojans, Panthers battle to tie

Piper Belden and Megan Perry tallied goals for Center Grove as it tied host North Central 2-2. The Trojans are 4-3-1 overall and sport a record of 2-0-1 against Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference competition.

BOYS TENNIS

Rebels improve to 4-4 with win

Roncalli shut out visiting Lutheran 5-0.

Winning singles matches for the Rebels were Bryson Meek, Alex Payne and Austin Schofield. Doubles teams picking up points were Garrett Meek/Jacob Perez and Tyler Pollard/Tyler Schofield.

Warriors win against Cougars

Whiteland won its road match at Greenfield-Central 5-0. The Warriors are now 5-2 on the season.
