Public voter districts forum set for Franklin College

A public forum on Indiana voter district reform is set for Sept. 19 at Franklin College.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at Franklin College, 101 Branigin Blvd., Franklin, in the Napolitan Student Center, Branigin Room.

The forum is presented by The Indiana Coalition for Independent Redistricting.

Discussion topics will include how the voter districts are created in Indiana, how they compare nationally, and what some experts say should be done.

Panelists include Paul Helmke, professor at Indiana University-Bloomington School of Public and Environmental Affairs and former Republican mayor of Fort Wayne; Sheila Kennedy, a member of the Indiana Special Interim Study Committee on Redistricting and IUPUI professor of law and policy; and Julia Vaughn, policy director at Common Cause Indiana.
