With two goals from Athena Passafiume and a goal each from Ellie Edel and Paige Waskom, Center Grove defeated Lawrence North 4-1.

Piper Belden, Gracyn Montfort and Isabelle Andersen pitched in with assists for the Trojans (7-3-1, 5-0-1 MIC), who play at Brownsburg on Monday.

Markus Lang had the only win for Indian Creek in a 4-1 loss against Mooresville Wednesday. Lang playing at, No. 2 singles, won 6-1, 6-3. The Braves (5-5) host Brown County today.

Avery Auton shot a 44, but Franklin fell short to Plainfield, 179 to 211, Wednesday at Deer Creek Golf Course.

<strong>Braves introduce new coach</strong>

Indian Creek introduced Steven Mirizzi as its new baseball coach Tuesday evening, when the hire officially was approved by the school board.

Mirizzi previously was an assistant coach at Danville. He replaces Eddie Willis, who stepped down at the end of last season. The Braves were 32-10-1 in Willis’ two seasons, winning sectional titles in both years.

<strong>Volleyball collects another win</strong>

The Franklin College volleyball team beat Spalding University Thursday with a straight-sets win (25-20, 25,10, 25-12), improving its record to 5-3.

Kennedy Surface led the offense with nine kills. Libby Stahl added 15 digs and Carrigan Peak had 13.
