Clark-pleasant hosts comedic Harlem Wizards Game

Clark-Pleasant teachers and administrators will take on a professional entertainment basketball team in February to raise money for student scholarships and to give teachers grants for special classroom projects.

The Harlem Wizards will play the educators and community members Feb. 20 at Whiteland Community High School, 300 E. Main St.

Jenny Zahm, a planning committee member through the Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation, tells you what you need to know.

<strong>What is planned?</strong>

The Harlem Wizards Game will be at Whiteland Community High School on Feb. 20. This is a combination basketball game and comedy show. The Wizards will play a full basketball game against Clark-Pleasant teachers, administrators and other community members. During the game and in between quarters, the Wizards provide a wide a variety of comedic action. There is a souvenir store and concessions are available.

<strong>H</strong><strong>ow do you get tickets?</strong>

There are several types of tickets available. CourtSide Plus tickets allow you to come to the game one hour early for a meet and greet with the players as well as Premium Court Side seating, a Free Team Photo and a $10 discount on a Wizards replica jersey. Reserved tickets allow you to have reserved seating and a free team poster. There are general admission and student tickets as well.

There also is a “Wiz Kid” Experience. Kids who purchase Wizards replica jerseys, purchase a ticket and attend the game get a personal introduction onto the court by the Wizards MC, 15-minute pre-game warm-up with the Wizards, participation in the Wizards’ grand entrance and a group photo opportunity with the Wizards and the home team.

Jerseys are $45 and can be pre-ordered online and picked up at the game or can be bought on game day at the souvenir store. Tickets can be purchased online harlem wizards.com or at Clark-Pleasant administration building, 50 Center St., Whiteland.

<strong>How many tickets will you sell?</strong>

We expect a large crowd, but our gymnasium holds 4,600 people so there is room for all.

<strong>Where does the money from the event go?</strong>

All proceeds from the event will go to the Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation. The foundation provides teacher grants and student scholarships. The Clark-Pleasant Education Foundation’s mission is to “Inspire Learning, Enrich Teaching and Enhance Educational Opportunities for all Students.”
