<strong>Trojans survive Rebel rally</strong>

Center Grove weathered a second-half comeback bid to edge Roncalli, 43-38, on Saturday afternoon.

Cassidy Hardin scored 17 points to lead the Trojans (15-4), who led 21-9 at halftime. Alana Vinson and Maddie Bischoff each finished with 12 points for the Rebels (10-10).

<strong>Cougars third in PAAC</strong>

Greenwood Christian defeated Liberty Christian, 47-40, in the third-place game of the Pioneer Conference playoffs Saturday.

The victory improves the Cougars to 13-6.

<strong>Mappes, Hays win MIC titles</strong>

Center Grove placed third at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference championships Saturday, led by a pair of repeat first-place finishers.

Gleason Mappes won his third MIC title at 160 pounds, while Jonah Hays (170) claimed his second crown. Alex Petro (113 pounds), Peyton Pruett (145) and Shane Stits (195) each placed second, while Evan Shoemaker (132) and Julius Byrd (182) were third in their respective classes.

<strong>Men outpace Earlham</strong>

John Beineke scored 25 points and Borden Kennedy added a career-high 21 as Franklin College emerged victorious in a shootout with Earlham on Saturday, 102-91.

Jordan Anderson and Sam Gutierrez each contributed 18 points for the Grizzlies (4-11, 3-5 HCAC), who shot a season-high 58 percent from the field in the win.

<strong>Women snap five-game skid</strong>

Led by a tenacious defensive effort, Franklin College broke free from a five-game losing streak with a 51-39 home win Saturday.

Bayleigh Walker posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Grizzlies (4-11, 3-5 HCAC), while Erin Bradley matched her career high with 13 points.
