Resident gets property rezoned for horses

A Greenwood resident will be able to legally keep a horse after the city council approved rezoning his property on the southwest side of the city

The Greenwood City Council unanimously approved rezoning three acres of land at 987 W. Stones Crossing Road from residential to agricultural. This will allow the owner, David Burbrink, to construct a barn and keep a horse on the property. The property had been annexed into the city in 2010.

The rezoning request was an unusual one for the city. Greenwood Planning Director Bill Peeples said he couldn’t recall any similar rezoning to allow someone to have animals on their property.
