Loretta Lazaropolis

GREENWOOD

Loretta Lazaropolis passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at her home in Indianapolis. She was 78 years old. Born in Indianapolis to parents Louis and Marie (Yost) Lazaropolis, Loretta was the youngest of five siblingsā€”Louie, Norma, John, and Jimmy. She attended Tech High School and lived in the Indianapolis area most of her life. Loretta remained close with her circle of friends from childhood for more than 60 years.

Small in stature but never one to pull her punches, Loretta was a force of nature and had a quick wit. She loved to make others laugh and had a passion for life. She was a strong and independent working mother of two sons, David Williams and Michael Lazaropolis. Loretta worked in management positions most of her life but was also well known as the owner of Charlieā€™s Place Bar and Restaurant on North Michigan Road in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Loretta never met a stranger and was always a friend to anyone in need. She was kind, caring, and loving and was the best friend a dog or cat ever met. She loved to fish and travel. Her record catch was an 8.5lb largemouth bass, and her favorite destination was Key West, Florida. A fan of all types of music, she liked everything from rock nā€™ roll to classical. She was also extremely proud of her Greek heritage.

Loretta is survived by her beloved dog Gus, her two sons, daughter-in-law Kathy Lazaropolis, and three grandchildrenā€”Vanessa, Miryah, and Tiaā€”and the countless friends she made during her extraordinary life.

A memorial service and celebration of Lorettaā€™s life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service, Greenwood Chapel, 481 West Main Street, Greenwood, IN.

Lorettaā€™s remains will be spread off the coast of her much-loved Key West at a later date.
