Juanita Burgett, 72, of Shelby County, Indiana, passed away January 20, 2018 at Saint Francis In-Patient Hospice Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born May 9, 1945 in England. She was the daughter of Allen Sterling and Patricia (Haynes) Harding. She married Edward C. Burgett on June 25, 1962 and he preceded her on November 29, 2016.
She is survived by a son, Edward C. Burgett II of Franklin, Indiana, daughters, Jody (David) Phillips of Edinburgh, Indiana and Melonie Burgett (Chris Cecil) of Marietta, Indiana, brother, Roger (Marsha) Sterling of Mooresville, Indiana and Kevin (Michelle) Sterling of Lake Tahoe, California, sisters, Susan Keen of Plainfield, Indiana and Janice (Pat) Turner of Indianapolis, Indiana, twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Carl Harding, husband, daughter, Dianna Burgett, brothers, Keith Sterling, and Stephen Sterling.
She was currently employed at Caterpillar in Franklin, Indiana. She sponsored Canada/USA Peace Games.
She loved time with her family and friends. She was an avid horseshoe player and great cook.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 by Reverend Lewis Burton at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh, Indiana. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, and from 9:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Shelby County, Indiana.
