Joyce Ann Helvie

INDIANAPOLIS

Joyce Ann Helvie, 83, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2018. She was born on August 3, 1934 in Fairfield, Iowa to the late William and Marjorie Stuckey.

Joyce was a devout Christian. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, listening to music, reading and sewing.

She was a member of Center Grove Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. She was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club, Eiteljorg Museum and a past Cub Scouts den leader and former member of Southport Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at the Oasis Reading Program for kids and at the Johnson County Food Pantry.

Joyce is survived by her three loving children, Jennifer Pannell, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Helvie and Lyle (Laura) Helvie; four siblings, Martha Weatherby, Daniel Stuckey, Joel Stuckey, and Phillip Stuckey; seven grandchildren, Misty Pannell-Manson (Elizabeth), Charles Pannell, Jared Helvie, Rachel Abraham (Jacob), Luke Helvie, Ryan Helvie, and Jordan Helvie (Mariah).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lyle Helvie; three siblings, Ruth Camp, David Stuckey and Samuel Stuckey.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Center Grove Church, 2340 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
