Mayor: Doing business with Greenwood to get easier

A business portal developed by the state is being rolled out to Greenwood to make it easier for local entrepreneurs to grow, put up new signs or move.

Greenwood will be the first city or town to partner with INBiz, a portal developed by the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office, Mayor Mark Myers announced at his annual State of the City address on Thursday.

When the portal is available for use in Greenwood later this year, business owners could use it to apply to add or change their signage, get a building permit for an expansion or an occupancy permit to move in, among other services.

Business owners wouldn’t have to trek to city hall during daytime hours on the weekdays and instead could transition their government business to online only.

Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson also attended Myers’ speech on Thursday to participate in the announcement.
