FRANKLIN
Dorothy Frances Tharp, 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born on June 4th, 1923 in Greenwood, Indiana to Homer and Lena (Copeland) Tilson. She married Noble Tharp who preceded her in passing. Dorothy is survived by sons, Jerry Tharp of Franklin and Ron (Bonnie) Tharp of Naples, Florida; grandchildren Jerry Tharp of Franklin; Jennifer Roberts of Franklin and Rusty Rossman of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Kendon Tharp of Kent, Ohio; and Grant Roberts of Franklin. Also surviving is one brother, Floyd (Carolyn) Tilson and one sister, Norma Goley and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her parents and husband.
She was a graduate of Clark High School in Whiteland, Indiana.
Dorothy was a homemaker and worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital for twenty years.
She was a member of Union Christian Church. She enjoyed playing cards at the Franklin Active Adult Center and the Nineveh Senior Center. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and especially loved her trips to visit her son in Alaska. She was an avid I.U. and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Monday, February 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin, with calling from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
