On February 20, 2018, Jennifer Godfrey, 35, passed away at home. She left behind a beautiful, intelligent, 11-year-old daughter, Vaneza. Jennifer was an extraordinary Mommy dedicating her life to Vaneza. They played games, went places, or just stayed home and chilled all the while working to support her and going to school to get her Hospitality degree.
Vaneza: My mom was the most amazing mom in the world and she was very pretty and yes my mom made some mistakes in her life but that doesn’t mean that she wasn’t the best mom in the world because yes she was the most amazing mom in the world and I will always remember what my mom said "Vaneza, God, he has a life for anyone and not everyone is perfect, we all make mistakes, do your best", and what she said that I will remember forever is "Vaneza I love you so much, more than anything in the world."
Jennifer is survived by Vaneza but her spouse, Joel Garcia, and a blended family of sisters and brothers in her passing. Three sisters, Tana, Sharon, & Amanda; five brothers, Chance, Chris, Joseph, Derrick, and Charlie; her Dad, Joseph; biological mom, Beth, and step-mom, Rhonda many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other family as well as friends.
We choose to celebrate Jennifer’s life, her beauty, compassion, energy, her devotion to her daughter, her willingness to give a helping hand to anyone in need even if it meant sacrificing or putting another before herself.
Jennifer’s life was cut way too short. She struggled with addiction but now that struggle is over. I know she would tell everyone she knows, "Just say no"! She wouldn’t want any other person to live through the hell she endured with this horrible disease. I heard her tell Vaneza, the last time they were together, "Please never take drugs, please never let someone talk you into trying anything you feel is wrong, be strong and beautiful and "Just say NO!"
Graveside service will be on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:30 am at Youngs Creek Cemetery in Franklin.
