Police: Nashville man arrested after truck theft

Police found a truck that was stolen when it was left running in the parking lot of a Franklin auto parts store minutes after it was taken, and arrested a suspect.

Raymond Eugene Hodson Jr., 30, of Nashville,  was arrested on a charge of auto theft and an unrelated warrant for a charge of invasion of privacy.

An employee of Advanced Auto Parts, 600 U.S. 31 North, reported at 8:12 p.m. Sunday that he started his truck and let it run while he was closing the store. The truck was stolen from the parking lot, according to a report from the Franklin Police Department.

An officer located the truck at 1900 Commerce Parkway in Franklin and stopped the driver. Hodson told police that he was walking north through the parking lot, saw that the truck was running, got in and drove away, according to the report.

A passenger, Glendon Lee Conner, who was picked up after the theft, denied knowing the truck was stolen, but was arrested on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

Hodson, of 5597 Lanam Ridge, was held on $2,750 bond. Conner, 601 Yandes St., Franklin, was released on $200 bond.
