Franklin Republican leaders named a retired sheriff’s deputy to the city council on Thursday night.
Daniel Blankenship received four of the six votes cast by precinct committee members and was immediately sworn in as a member of the city council. He is a retired lieutenant with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
His selection fills a two-month vacancy on the city council.
