Flu visitor restrictions lifted at Johnson Memorial, Community

More local hospitals are lifting restrictions on visitors as the flu season winds down.

Visitors to Johnson Memorial Hospital and Community Hospital South will no longer be barred from seeing patients if they have flu or cold symptoms, are not immediate family or are under the age of 18.

Johnson Memorial Hospital ended its visitor restrictions Monday, as flu cases have been declining steadily, according to Stacy Hummell, the hospital’s infection control and prevention coordinator.

Community Hospital South’s visitor restrictions also ended Monday, as the Marion County Health Department determined that the restrictions are no longer necessary, a hospital news release said.
