<strong>Braves win season-opener</strong>

A home run from Wyatt Phillips helped lift Indian Creek to a 6-4 road win against Lebanon in its first game of the season Wednesday.

The Braves will be back in action Friday against Martinsville at the Bosse Field Invitational in Evansville.

<strong>Baseball team earns 15th win</strong>

Frank Podkul drove in five runs, including three on his sixth home run of the season, to help Franklin College roll past Colby College 14-7 on Wednesday in the final game of its spring trip to Florida.

Jarrod Smith added four RBIs for the Grizzlies (15-1), while Sam Claycamp collected four hits.

Franklin opens HCAC play Saturday with a home doubleheader against Transylvania.

<strong>Softball squad splits pair</strong>

Three hits and three runs batted in from Monica Collins helped Franklin College win the opening game of a doubleheader against Wisconsin-Platteville on Wednesday in Westfield.

The Grizzlies (13-3) won the first game by a 4-2 score before the Pioneers battled back to win the second game by the same score.

On Saturday, Franklin will begin its HCAC slate with a home doubleheader against Defiance.
