In tune with spring: Band to kick off anniversary concert

A non-profit band based in Greenwood will kick off their 25th anniversary season with a spring concert.

Greater Greenwood Community Band will have their annual Spring Concert at 7 p.m. April 15 at Greenwood Community High School, 615 W. Smith Valley Road.

The music will have springtime tunes including “An Irish Rhapsody”, “The Hounds of Spring”, “Big Cage”, “Open Space”, “Lux Aurumque”, “Spirit of the Shannon”, and a piece titled, “For Patrick”, written by Butler University composer, Michael D. Krueger.

Greater Greenwood Community Band is a notprofit 80+ piece band of volunteer musicians.

No tickets required. Audience donations to help support the band are greatly appreciated, and a gift of canned goods for the local Salvation Army will be collected.
