Educational tale: Learn about World War I at upcoming library event

Families can learn more about World War I in an upcoming storytelling event.

“Over There and Back Again,” a Bev Martin Storytelling event will be 2:30 p.m. April 14 at the Franklin library, 401 State St.

Sharon Kirk Clifton presents “Over There and Back Again,” a story about how two Hoosiers, Robert H. Tyndall and Ruth Wright, answered the call of duty for World War I, and then returned home after the war to become leaders in Indiana.

Clifton is a professional storyteller who is also passionate about writing, especially for children. She has published two middle-grade novels and is working on a third. She received the Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellowship in 2004 for which she premiered “Abigail Gray: Living Under the Drinking Gourd.”

This Beverly A. Martin Storytelling Event is part of the Sharing Hoosier Histories Through Stories series sponsored by the Indiana Historical Society and Storytelling Arts of Indiana, Inc.
